Xiaomi has only just released the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U in China. However, it is already offering a cheaper option in its home market under the same series. To recap, the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U replaced the Redmi Display G Pro 27 with a brighter IPS panel and the option of enabling a faster refresh rate.
Now, it has started to sell the Redmi Monitor G27U with a similar set of specifications. For instance, the Redmi Monitor G27U features a 27-inch IPS panel that can output at 4K/160 Hz or 1080p/320 Hz as needed. Also, the monitor boasts 1 ms GtG response times, 400 nits peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 95% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
Based on these specifications, it would seem that the Redmi Monitor G27U features the same panel as the ROG Strix XG27UCG that debuted last year (curr. $449.99 on Amazon). Xiaomi claims to have included DisplayPort 2.1 (54 Gbps) and HDMI 2.1 ports that the Asus' equivalent lacks, though. Currently, the Redmi Monitor G27U is only available in China, where Xiaomi sells it for CNY 1,599 (~$222). There is no word yet about the chances of a global release; Xiaomi has offered its gaming monitors outside China before, though.
