American video-game maker Bethesda has released an announcement trailer for Rage 2. It has been reported that the game is a collaborative effort with id Software (the developer behind games like Doom, Quake, and the first Rage title) and Avalanche Studios (the company that developed the Just Cause series and 2015’s Mad Max). Although the video does not show off any specific gameplay, it does show how the developers have approached the sequel: plenty of explosive action, humorous undertones, and a Mad Max-inspired environment.
The news about Rage 2's forthcoming release has not come as a major surprise to the gaming world. Walmart Canada had already accidentally leaked information about the upcoming title, leading to Bethesda making fun of the situation via the Twitter account for Rage.
There is no release date for the sequel yet, although it is expected to be available on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. Another trailer is scheduled for release on May 15 and should show some of the title’s actual gameplay. Bethesda will be holding a press conference at the E3 event on June 10.
