AMD Ryzen 3 4300U vs Intel Core i7-11375H vs Intel Core i5-11300H
AMD Ryzen 3 4300U
► remove from comparison
The AMD Ryzen 3 4300U is a processor for thin and light laptops based on the Renoir family. The 4300U integrates four cores based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture (quad core CPU). They are clocked at 2.7 (guaranteed base clock) to 3.7 GHz (Turbo) without SMT / Hyperthreading support (4 threads). The chip is manufactured on the modern 7 nm TSMC process and partly thanks to it AMD advertises a 2x improved performance per Watt for the Renoir chips. Compared to the faster Ryzen 5 4000 CPUs (e.g., Ryzen 5 4600U), the Ryzen 3 only offers 4 cores and lower Turbo clock speeds.
In addition to the four CPU cores, the APU also has the Radeon RX Vega 5 integrated graphics card with 5 CUs and up to 1400 MHz. The dual channel memory controller supports DDR4-3200 and energy efficient LPDDR4-4266 RAM. Furthermore, 4 MB of Level 3 cache can be found on the chip. See our hub page on the Renoir Processors for more information.
Performance
The average 4300U in our database matches the Core i5-1035G4 and the Core i5-11300H, both quad-core chips, in multi-thread performance. Technically a lower mid-range CPU, this Ryzen is light years ahead of Intel Pentiums and AMD Athlons that so many sub-US$500 laptops ship with.
Your mileage may vary depending on how high the CPU power limits are and how competent the cooling solution of our system is.
Power consumption
The Ryzen 3 series chip has a default TDP (also known as the long-term power limit) of 15 W, a value that laptop manufacturers are free to change to anything between 10 W and 25 W with performance and clock speeds changing accordingly as a result. By going for the lowest value, it is possible to build passively cooled tablets, laptops, mini-PCs around this APU.
The 7 nm TSMC process the Ryzen 3 4300U is manufactured on makes for average, as of mid 2023, energy efficiency.
Intel Core i7-11375H
► remove from comparison
The Intel Core i7-11375H is a high end quad core SoC for thin and light gaming laptops and mobile workstations. It is based on the Tiger Lake H35 generation and was announced early 2021. It integrates four Willow Cove processor cores (8 threads thanks to HyperThreading). The base clock speed depends on the TDP setting and can vary from 3 (28 W TDP) to 3.3 GHz (35 W). Compared to the i7-11370H, the only difference is the additional Turbo Boost 3.0 for a single core. With it, the 11375H can clock up to 5 GHz. Two cores can clock up to 4.8 GHz (as the 11370H) and all four cores can reach up to 4.3 GHz. The 11375H can use the whole 12 MB level 3 cache.
The processor performance of the i7 should be very similar to the i7-11370H. Only single threaded short workloads will be slightly faster. The multi-threaded performance should be clearly higher than the old Core i5-10400H (Comet Lake, fastest quad core of the 10th gen) due to the new processor architecture. The similar Core i7-1185G7 offers similar specs as the 11370H but a lower TDP and therefore also lower (sustained) performance.
The SoC also included the improved Xe graphics adapter with all 96 EUs clocked at up to 1350 MHz.
Furthermore, Tiger Lake SoCs add PCIe 4 support (four lanes), AI hardware acceleration, and the partial integration of Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 and Wi-Fi 6 in the chip.
The chip is produced on the improved 10nm process (called 10nm SuperFin) at Intel, which should be comparable to the 7nm process at TSMC (e.g. Ryzen 4000 series).

Intel Core i5-11300H
► remove from comparison
The Intel Core i5-11300H is a mid range SoC for thin and light gaming laptops and mobile workstations. It is based on the Tiger Lake H35 generation and was announced early 2021. It integrates four Willow Cove processor cores (8 threads thanks to Hyper-Threading). The base clock speed depends on the TDP setting and can vary from 2.6 (28 W TDP) to 3.1 GHz (35 W). The boost of a single and two cores under load can reach up to 4.4 GHz. All four cores can reach up to 4 GHz. The L3 cache is reduced to 8 MB compared to the 12 MB of the higher end i7 models.
The SoC also has the improved Xe graphics adapter with 80 CUs running at up to 1,300 MHz.
Furthermore, Tiger Lake SoCs add PCIe 4 support (four lanes), AI hardware acceleration, and the partial integration of Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 and Wi-Fi 6 in the chip.

Performance
The average 11300H in our database proves to be an OK lower mid-range CPU, as of early 2022, its multi-thread benchmark scores nearly matching those of the AMD Ryzen 3 5300U. The Core i5 will handle most day-to-day activities with ease, only sweating at the sight of latest triple-A games and similar tasks.
Thanks to its decent cooling solution and a long-term CPU power limit of 40 W, the Nitro 5 AN517-53 is among the fastest laptops built around the 11300H that we know of. It can be around 50% faster in CPU-bound workloads than the slowest system featuring the same chip in our database, as of August 2023.
Power consumption
This Core i5 series chip has a default TDP of 28 W to 35 W, the expectation being that laptop makers will go for a higher value in exchange for higher performance. Either way, these values are way too high to allow for passively cooled designs.
The i5-11300H is built with Intel's third-generation 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin for lower-than-average, as of mid 2023, energy efficiency.
