Oppo is gearing up to take Honor's crown with the launch of the Find N5, which is touted to be the world's thinnest foldable smartphone. The company will also launch the Watch X2 alongside it, and as one of the recent teasers has confirmed, the smartwatch will sport a blood pressure monitoring feature.
Zhou Yibao, the product manager at Oppo, has even shown the feature in action. However, the hands-on photo shared by the executive didn't reveal the design of the smartwatch. In the photo, the Watch X2 had a leak-proof case, but the visible parts of the watch suggest that it will look similar to the last-gen wearable.
Getting back to the blood pressure monitoring feature, the Oppo executive shares that it will be able to alert users when unusual pressure is detected. However, it's worth noting that the feature doesn't appear to rely on a specialized cuff that smartwatches in the Huawei Watch D series utilize.
This means that the blood pressure monitoring feature could be very similar to that of the OnePlus Watch 2 (curr. $242.80 on Amazon). Of course, given that the Watch X2 will be an improved version of OnePlus' current flagship smartwatch, there could be some improvements in the accuracy of the readings.
If there's indeed an improvement in the blood pressure monitoring feature on the Oppo Watch X2, it should get carried over to the OnePlus Watch 3. More information about the upcoming smartwatch may be revealed by the company officials in the coming days.
