The Oppo A5 Pro is touted to have a level of durability on par with that of devices such as the Unihertz Tank 3 Pro (currently priced at $639.99 on Amazon), yet has been designed to resemble its flagship Find X8-series counterparts as much as possible.
Now, a second device with the same looks has emerged on Weibo, courtesy of the leaker known as Experience more. The tipster purports to identify the smartphone as the Oppo PKQ110, or vanilla A5.
It allegedly has the same 6.7-inch FHD AMOLED display as its Pro sibling, but is powered by a Snapdragon 6-series SoC (most likely the 695 or 6 Gen 1) from Qualcomm rather than a Dimensity 7300 platform from MediaTek.
The A5 Pro and "A5" might also have the same cameras - however, the latter is backed to have the larger battery of the two.
It is now linked to a rated capacity of 6,330mAh, which could be rounded up to a typical capacity (or the one more likely to appear on its spec sheets) of 6,400mAh, 6,450mAh or even 6,500mAh, as opposed to 6,000mAh in the Pro.
Experience more has also posted an alleged hands-on photo of the "A5" that suggests the smartphone has its own version of the Pro's Sandstone colorway in addition to the second, darker and more monolithic shade of purple hinted at in another leaked image.
However, should this new report prove accurate, it could start for even less than the 1,999 yuan (~$273) commanded by the A5 Pro's base model in China right now.
Then again, there is no evidence that the upcoming device will have the same Gorilla Glass Victus 2-enhanced "360° drop resistance" and "18 kinds of water-proofing" as the new A-series flagship.
