Fossibot's latest smartphone has been unleashed with a 1.09-inch display set into the middle of its ring-style camera hump. Unlike some devices with that feature, the S3 Pro is not foldable - however, it is also touted as having a "2K" AMOLED display.
However, the actual resolution in question is 2400x1080, whereas the OEMs of other, higher-end handsets tend to define that term as closer to 1440p. In addition, the S3 Pro's refresh rate is capped at a profoundly last-gen 60Hz.
On that note, the S3 Pro might have dual rear cameras, but they are of underwhelming 64MP and 2MP resolutions.
Nevertheless, it could be described as the non-rugged counterpart of the F109 Pro with a "Fashion" take on the same dual-screen design. Then again, the S3 Pro is lumbered with the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC of the older F106 Pro rather than something newer like the Dimensity 6300.
Accordingly, the S3 Pro does not have 5G - however, it does make sure to support NFC and Bluetooth in addition to the increasingly rare spec of microSD card support.
Finally, the S3 Pro has a distinctly regressive 5,000mAh battery, as opposed to ~10,000mAh in the F109 Pro.
Then again, the latter now costs $279.99 on Amazon, whereas the S3 Pro will be released to AliExpress tomorrow (January 20, 2025) at just $139.
