The Oppo A77s has arrived, with the handset launching first in Thailand. While Oppo has not confirmed global availability yet, it has detailed that the A77s sells for THB 8,999 (~US$241) in Thailand. Unsurprisingly, the Oppo A77s is a mid-range smartphone, which means that Oppo has employed some cost-saving measures.
Specifically, the Oppo A77s has a 720p display, albeit a 6.56-inch IPS one that operates at 90 Hz. Additionally, although the display peaks at 600 nits, it has rather thick bezels, including a waterdrop notch for an 8 MP front-facing camera. Similarly, Oppo has equipped the A77s with a 50 MP primary camera but only a 2 MP monochrome sensor. Still, a 5,000 mAh battery is handy, as is 33 W wired fast charging via USB Type-C.
Moreover, the Oppo A77s has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and 128 GB of expandable storage. According to Oppo, the A77s also ships with ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12, rather than the newer Android 13. Separately, all units feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, which Oppo complements with 8 GB of RAM. Currently, the Oppo A77s comes in Starry Black and Sunset Orange colourways, the latter of which has a fibreglass leather finish.
