Garmin has been busy with updating its Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 smartwatches of late. The company is still finding time to improve the user experience on its older mid-range products though, including the Venu 3, Venu 3S and Vivoactive 5 (curr. $244.90 on Amazon).
To recap, Garmin flighted Beta 12.11 to the three smartwatches shortly before Christmas. Shortly afterwards, the same build reached stable status but only with two bug fixes from Software Version 12.10 that arrived a month earlier.
This time, Garmin has introduced another interim stable update, which it had submitted for public beta testing earlier this month. On the face of it, Software Version 12.12 is a relatively uninspiring update that merely makes 'general bug fixes'.
Unfortunately, Garmin has not shared any further details in this regard. There have been no reports of tangible improvements on Garmin's forums either, despite complaints of Software Version 12.11 causing battery drain and sleep detection issues. Instead, additional complaints have surfaced that Vivoactive 5 and Venu 3 owners insist only occurred after updating to Garmin's latest build.
