Samsung has announced that it has started to mass-produce DRAM chips of 16GB in size and LPDDR5 in quality. Apple to gradually ditch Intel's CPUs, first MacBooks powered by ARM-based chips coming in 2021

Apple plans to replace all Intel CPUs from its laptops and desktops with ARM-based processors produced in-house. Performance is already there if we compare the A13 Bionic SoC with Intel's ULV CPUs, but Apple is waiting for the jump to 5 nm in order to keep Macbook power requirements as low as possible.

Rumour - Updated | OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro appear in hands-on images

OnePlus is slated to release its new trio of smartphones soon, rumoured to be the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite. While leaks and renders of the devices have already been posted online, someone seems to have gotten their hands on a few units and has been sharing photos. The photos confirm that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a ToF camera, while at least one will feature a new colourway. A punch-hole display is apparently in tow, too.

Leaked CPU sales data from Mindfactory has shown an astonishing dominance for AMD over Intel. The overall share is 86.11% to 13.89% in favor of Team Red. Sony will unveil its next flagship tomorrow and the phone's technical spec sheet has surfaced, revealing a device that competes against the Samsung Galaxy S20+ without necessarily losing. Major talking points include the return of a 3.5mm headphone jack, the same main camera sensor as the Galaxy S20 and S20+, 3x optical zoom, and a 4000 mAh battery.

Samsung patents its take on the waterfall display

Samsung has filed a patent with the US Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO) for a kind of display that, despite curving down around the sides of the phone, can also have physical buttons. This, in effect, is a new kind of punch-hole that could reconcile many buyers to waterfall displays and their potential drawbacks. Furthermore, the button could also be replaced by other modules or sensors.
