MIUI 12 arrives on the Mi 9 SE; Pocophone F1 could be next for Xiaomi's OS update
Xiaomi has started upgrading the Mi 9 SE to MIUI 12. Xiaomi being Xiaomi, the new OS has landed on Chinese devices first. The update is called V12.0.1.0.QFBCNXM and contains the usual changelog for initial MIUI 12 builds. V12.0.1.0.QFBCNXM may be subject to a limited rollout for the time being, but you can grab the update files below if you want to install them on your Mi 9 SE.
Please note that your device must either be unlocked or enrolled on the Chinese branch of MIUI. You can check whether your device falls into the latter category by heading to About Phone and checking the current build number. If the fourth and third last characters are "CN", then your device is running a Chinese build of MIUI. The update files for the Mi 9 SE are as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi 9 SE - V12.0.1.0.QFBCNXM (2.5 GB) / OTA (817 MB)
Separately, a moderator of the Mi Community seems to think that the Pocophone F1 could be the next in line to receive MIUI 12. The Pocophone F1 was, like the Redmi Note 8 Pro, eligible for MIUI 12 pilot testing as we reported last month. The latter has just received its global stable MIUI 12 upgrade, so the equivalent update for the Pocophone F1 could arrive at any time. The moderator did not offer a date for when Xiaomi plans to issue the update, but there have been rumours that it could be before the end of this month.
