Kuo: A wholesale transition for Apple to ARM MacBooks and Macs to start next year - as we predicted

In his latest research note, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has forecast that Apple will make a large-scale transition to ARM-based MacBooks and Macs in 2021. Previously Kuo had indicated 2021 would be when the first ARM-based Mac would ship, but wasn’t it still wasn’t clear that Apple would take baby steps or go the whole hog. At the time, we correctly speculated that there were good reasons for Apple to go hard on the ARM-based Mac transition and it looks as though the same rationale will drive the change.

"Fixed" Android 10 update arriving very soon for the Mi A2 Lite, but there is a caveat

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite may be on the verge of receiving a new Android 10 update. Apparently also including the March security patch update, the update will redress the bugs that the first Android 10 update introduced to the device. Due "very soon", we would not recommend upgrading straightaway when it arrives, though.

A Comet Lake 10-core desktop processor in the form of the Intel Core i9-10900K has been flexing some multi-core muscles on Geekbench 5. The result recorded was 11,390 points, putting it way beyond the i9-9900KS on 9,458 points. Even AMD’s 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X isn’t far out of sight, with the Matisse chip pulling in 12,134 points.

DX 12 apparently allows iGPUs to work in tandem with any kind of dGPU, so Intel is suggesting that only its desktop CPUs can do that, since AMD's desktop processors do not include iGPUs. Dell Latitude 5411 with Intel Core i5-10400H visits Geekbench and also runs up incredible single-core score on UserBenchmark

A couple of benchmarks involving a Dell Latitude and an Intel Core i5-10400H have been spotted and shared online. The Geekbench 5 results for the system reveal the i5-10400H is a four-core, eight-thread part that has a base clock of 2.6 GHz. The UserBenchmark record for the Intel Comet Lake-H chip features an amazing single-core score of 138 points.

We get to learn that the Apple A12X Bionic has eight physical GPU cores, but one of those cores is disabled. The disabled core is enabled in the new A12Z Bionic that powers the 2020 iPad Pro. While there could be several reasons for this decision, the most convincing explanation is that it would save Apple from having to develop a new A13X chip while a more powerful A14X is already in the pipeline for a late 2020 release.

When looking for a cheap smartphone with a large battery, the Motorola Moto G8 Power should come to mind. Motorola has got plenty right with the device, including equipping the device with surprisingly good cameras. Why did it feel the need to include such weak Wi-Fi connectivity, though?
