Realme X7 Pro Player Edition will allegedly be the world's first smartphone to ship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 5G
It appears that there is more than one variant of the Realme X7 Pro in the works. Numerous leaks told us that the device is billed to come with a Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ SoC. However, renowned leaker Ishan Agarwal suggests that the Realme X7 Pro will also be the world's first smartphone to ship with Qualcomm's yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 860 5G SoC.
Ishan further clarifies that the Snapdragon 860 5G-powered variant of the Realme X7 Pro could likely be sold as a 'Player Edition' model. Another leaker speculated that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 6G would debut alongside Oppo's upcoming Reno5 series. Realme has, on more than one occasion, stolen Oppo's thunder by announcing a similarly-specced product earlier, so the move doesn't come as much of a surprise.
Not much is known about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 5G other than the fact that it is likely a binned Snapdragon 865. It shouldn't be long before we find out more about the Realme X7, Realme X7 Pro, and its siblings, as the phone will be released in China on September 1. One can hope that a global launch follows suit soon, as the similarly-specced Redmi K30 Ultra isn't going to hit international shores anytime shortly.
