New information has surfaced regarding Nothing's 2025 smartphone lineup, and it changes what we previously knew. According to a new report, the devices believed to be the Nothing Phone (3) and Nothing Phone (3) Pro might actually be successors to the Nothing Phone (2a) (curr. $329 on Amazon) and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.
The info, which comes from Smartprix, claims that the two Nothing phones with model numbers A059
and A059P
, and the codenames asteroids
and asteroids_plus
are possibly the Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Plus respectively and not the Nothing Phone 3 and Nothing Phone (3) Pro as reported previously.

The source also revealed that the third device with the codename galaga
and whose model number A001
was found in the IMEI database alongside the other two, is likely to be a CMF-branded phone, presumably the successor to the CMF Phone 1 (available on Amazon for $289).
If the above information is true, then where is the Nothing Phone (3) which has been confirmed to launch in 2025? Considering these three devices are expected to be announced in the first half of 2025, it could mean the Nothing Phone (3) hasn't been spotted yet because it will arrive later in 2025.
Based on the information currently available, the phone codenamed asteroids
and with the model number A059
already appeared on Geekbench powered by a chipset believed to be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. This will be a significant change considering the Nothing Phone (2a) has a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor.
Smartprix also revealed that the upcoming CMF phone may use the same Snapdragon chipset. However, we can expect the CMF Phone to have tradeoffs in other areas to keep it priced lower than the alleged Nothing Phone (3a).
Notwithstanding, the current info about the identities of the phone should be taken with a grain of salt until more concrete evidence surface in the weeks or months leading up to their release.
