A new version of the Philips Hue app is rolling out to customers of the smart home brand. Version 5.47 is the second update to arrive in July 2025; it follows version 5.46, which brought minor bug fixes and stability improvements.
Philips Hue app version 5.47 brings an improvement for users of the brand’s smart lights. In the event that the product cannot be reached, users can now tap on the settings screen to get instructions for the reconnection process. When a light disconnects, users navigate to the device’s settings by clicking on the product card > (...) > Light Settings > Reconnect. From here, you are asked to check the connection to power. If this is ok, users can then reconnect the light following the usual setup process, scanning a QR code or searching for the device. When it is reconnected, the device should retain its previous settings.
You can now download the Philips Hue app version 5.47 from the Apple App Store; a version for Android users is expected to arrive in the near future at the Google Play Store. Plus, there is a recent release for various Philips Hue lamps and light fixtures, as well as an update for users of the Philips Hue Bridge (curr. $50.65 at Amazon).
