New Philips Hue smart light update rolling out to bulbs and lamps

Philips Hue has released software version 1.122.8/20250213 for its smart bulbs, lamps, and light fixtures. This is the first update for these products in 2025; the last update was version 1.122.2/1.122.3 in October 2024, which brought new lighting effects and Bluetooth stability improvements.

While several users have reported receiving the version 1.122.8/20250213 update, Philips Hue has not officially announced the update on its Release Notes web page. When contacted by Hueblog.com about the release, the company said that it included minor bug fixes and stability improvements, without providing further details. As such, it appears that there are no new features included in this update.

As is typical for Philips Hue smart lamps and light fixtures, software version 1.122.8/20250213 should be installed automatically. You can check that you have automatic updates enabled in the Philips Hue app by going to Settings > Software update > Automatic update.
