GPD has finally confirmed the existence of a new Win Max handheld. Launching with AMD Strix Halo processor and a 1,050-nit OLED display, the GPD Win Max 3 is also set to receive an Intel Arc G3 Extreme version. GPD has revealed when its new Win Max will arrive, too.

GPD has finally commented on the state of its next Win Max release. In summary, the company hinted in October 2025 that a new Win Max 'might come later' with a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. Over the last few weeks, various sources have revealed details about the Win Max 3 ahead of an official confirmation.

Now, a GPD representative has taken to Reddit with a lengthy post about the device. Embedded below, the post outlines that the Win Max 3 will extract up to 110 W from AMD's Strix Halo platform. According to our CPU and GPU benchmarks, this change should yield massive performance gains from the most recent Win Max 2 powered by the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (curr. $2,176 on Amazon).

Moreover, GPD has confirmed that the Win Max 3 leverages a 97 Wh replaceable battery, a 44% improvement over the 67 W battery inside its predecessor. Apparently, the device's 165 Hz OLED display reaches 1,050 nits peak brightness, too. However, we suspect this is in limited areas when viewing HDR content, rather than full panel SDR peak brightness.

GPD expects to launch the Win Max 3 before the end of September 2026 with AMD Strix Halo processors. Specifically, the company has teased that fans 'will see it in Q3 [2026]'. Also, GPD has teed up an Intel Arc G3 Extreme-powered model. Unfortunately, more details about this variant remain unknown for now.
