Nintendo Switch 2 VRR support in docked mode could be in the works

At launch, there was some discourse about the Nintendo Switch 2’s VRR support. The company mentioned VRR support but then later clarified that it's exclusive to the integrated display. The handheld wasn’t able to pass a VRR signal output through the dock to a supported TV. That could be changing with an updated Switch 2, or so it seems.
Nintendo’s Redmond, WA office has opened up a role for a Senior Engineer, Display (NTD) that demands understanding and knowledge of various “display standards and specifications, such as HDMI, DSI, DisplayPort, EDID.” More interestingly, the role prefers a candidate who has knowledge of display technologies such as HDR and VRR. However, it should be noted that this is a preferred requirement for the role.
While this is in no way a confirmation of a newer version of the Switch 2 that supports VRR in docked mode, it could suggest that Nintendo wants to bring the feature either to the Switch 2 or to the next console. The listing clearly states that the display driver stack development is for current and future products. For now, the Switch 2 supports it on the integrated display, and the dock supports VRR output to a supported TV, but the two together don’t do the same.
The job listing comes after Nintendo confirmed the release of a refreshed Switch 2 for the European market with replaceable batteries.
