New Switch 2 model with upgraded LCD panel could address a glaring issue

After confirming a revised Switch 2 handheld with a replaceable battery, it looks like Nintendo has another revision underway. This time, the company wants to improve the display, and fans believe it’s likely to address an issue that has plagued the handheld since launch, i.e., ghosting.
The Nintendo Patents Watch account shared on Bluesky their discovery of a new Switch 2 LCD panel that was spotted on a Chinese resale site. This new panel has model number ‘LS079T1SX10P’ and brings a different circuit and connectors. The account believes the model number represents an LTPS panel from Sharp measuring 7.9 inches with 1,080p resolution.
This change is said to address ghosting issues that some users have complained about. Ghosting is when a moving object leaves a trail behind, typically caused by slow pixel response time. At this point, it is unclear if the current Switch 2 models will be phased out to bring in newer ones.
This is just speculation at this point, and as pointed out by a commenter, this design change could just be to accommodate the new replaceable battery that Nintendo is working on for the EU. If that is true, a so-called upgraded Switch 2 display will be unlikely. That said, there have been rumblings of a Switch 2 OLED and Switch 2 Lite console, but neither of them seem to fit the latest LCD discovery.
