Minisforum releases new mini-PC globally with up to 64 GB RAM and Intel Wildcat Lake
Earlier this week, Minisforum released the Elite Mini M2 Air, also known as the Elite Mini M2 Air-304 or M2 Air for short. As we discussed at the time, the M2 Air serves as a cheaper alternative to the M2, a Panther Lake-based system that arrived in May (curr. $543 on Amazon). Incidentally, an M2 Pro is on the way, too.
In the meantime, the M2 Air is now available to purchase globally. For context, the mini-PC currently starts at $263 in the US, allegedly discounted from a $329 MSRP. By contrast, pricing starts at AUD 405.90, CAD 360, €279 and £239 in Australia, Canada, the Eurozone and the UK, respectively.
Please note that these starting prices are for a barebones system with a Core 3 304 processor from Intel's Wildcat Lake family. As such, one would need to purchase RAM and storage separately to install in the M2 Air's dual SODIMM and single M.2 2280 slots. For reference, the former accepts up to 64 GB of DDR5-6400 RAM. Meanwhile, the mini-PC runs M.2 SSDs at PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds.
Alternatively, Minisforum sells the M2 Air with 16 GB of RAM and a 500 GB SSD. At the time of writing, this SKU sells for €599 and £509 in the Eurozone and the UK. However, Australia and Canada has not received pre-configured units. Pre-orders should start shipping in mid-September. Please see Minisforum's website and our launch article for more details.
