Minisforum releases new mini-PC with Intel Panther Lake and 32 GB RAM

Minisforum has just showcased the EliteMini M2 in China. According to ITHome, Minisforum did not reveal when the M2 would be available. As it turns out, the company is already selling its new mini-PC globally.
In short, the M2 is Minisforum's alternative to the NUC 16 Pro (curr. $791 on Amazon) that launched earlier this year. Currently, Minisforum offers the M2 only with the Core Ultra 7 356H, a 16-core and 16-thread processor from Intel's Panther Lake family. While the Core Ultra 7 356H is relatively efficient with decent CPU performance, its 4-core Xe3 iGPU is relatively weak.
To counter this, Minisforum has included a USB4 port for connecting an eGPU dock. Additionally, the M2 contains three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and dual 2.5 Gigabit LAN, but only DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 TMDS ports. Moreover, Minisforum has found space for dual M.2 2280 slots and dual SODIMM slots that support up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM.
The Minisforum EliteMini M2 starts at $575, €599 and £529 as a barebones unit. Please note that this version lacks an OS licence too, as well as missing any pre-installed RAM or storage. Alternatively, Minisforum currently charges $1,039, €1,119 and £975 for the M2 with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
