Lenovo releases new 14-inch laptop in North America with Intel Panther Lake and 32 GB of RAM

Lenovo has expanded its IdeaPad 5i series in North America. Earlier this year, the company released a 15-inch variant powered by Intel's Core Ultra 7 355. Since then, Lenovo has updated its IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 (15IPH11) offering to include the lesser Core Ultra 5 322.
Now, both of these processors have returned inside the IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 (14IPH11) with a 60 Wh battery as a replacement for Gen 10 models (curr. $829 on Amazon). Currently, Lenovo charges $160 extra for the Core Ultra 7 355 over the Core Ultra 5 322 and CAD 210 in Canada. According to our benchmarks, this price difference correlates with a 28% CPU performance gap between the two processors in the Core Ultra 7 355's favour. The Core Ultra 7 355 should feature a significantly faster GPU, too.
Regardless of processor, one can configure the 14IPH11 with 16 GB or 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, 512 GB or 1 TB of M.2 2242 storage and IPS or OLED displays. Please note that Lenovo's OLED panel is significantly more colour accurate than its IPS alternative, with 100% DCI-P3 and 45% NTSC colour space coverages, respectively. Both are 1200p, 400 nit and 60 Hz panels with touchscreen support, though.
Currently, the IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 (14IPH11) starts at $799.99 in the US and CAD 1,129 in Canada. These prices include the Core Ultra 5 322, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and an IPS display. By contrast, a fully configured model with a Core Ultra 7 355, 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and an OLED display runs to $1,309 and CAD 1,829, respectively.
