Minisforum unveils new compact NAS with Intel Panther Lake and Intel Wildcat Lake processors

Minisforum has just released the EliteMini M2 mini-PC globally. At the same time, it has expanded its Network Attached Storage (NAS) series with two new models. For context, the company launched the N5 Max with AMD Strix Halo in April as a more powerful alternative to its N5, N5 Air and N5 Pro NAS solutions (curr. $899 on Amazon).
Now, it has presented the All-Flash S5 and the All-Flash S7 with Intel's Core Series 3 and Core Ultra Series 3 processors. As its name suggests, the All-Flash S5 features five drive slots, which Minisforum clarifies run at PCIe 4.0 x1 with support for up to M.2 2280 SSDs. Meanwhile, the All-Flash S7 supports up to seven SSDs and is based on Minisforum's existing MS-03 workstation.

As such, the All-Flash S7 also contains dual USB 4 ports, dual 2.5 Gigabit LAN connections and even a 10 Gigabit LAN port. Moreover, Minisforum has included a small LED status display, which the All-Flash S5 misses out on. Nonetheless, the smaller S5 offers 10 Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet with dual USB4 ports, too.
Currently, it seems that the All-Flash S5 will be the first mini-PC featuring Intel's Wildcat Lake platform. Please see our launch article for more details about Wildcat Lake. By contrast, the All-Flash S7 will leverage Intel's more powerful Panther Lake platform. Minisforum has not confirmed pricing or availability yet.
