New Ugreen NAS with up to 64GB RAM and Core Ultra 7 get preorder discounts

Ugreen is now offering two new NAS devices for preorder. To be more precise, the NASync iDX6011 can be preordered for $999 if customers pay a $30 deposit now. That reservation then qualifies for a discount as part of the crowdfunding campaign that will kick off in March. Shipping is not expected until May. For a super early-bird price of $1,199, the NAS comes with 64GB RAM instead of 32GB. For the NASync iDX6011 Pro, the same reservation-based preorder results in a price of $1,559.
Both Ugreen NAS are positioned as high-performance systems that are likely overkill for basic data storage. The Pro version uses an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, while the iDX6011 is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H. The available performance and built-in NPUs are also intended for local acceleration of AI models. According to Ugreen, this makes it possible to analyze and sort photos without cloud services, for instance. The company is also promoting the option to build a local knowledge base. These kind of local AI features do not require a paid subscription. More importantly, potentially sensitive data does not have to be transferred to cloud servers.
Aside from the different processors, the differences between the two NAS are limited. There is one significant distinction, as only the iDX6011 Pro includes OCuLink, which can be used to connect an external GPU or additional storage. Both Ugreen NAS devices offer Thunderbolt 4, USB 3, USB 2 and an SD card reader for quick photo backups. The iDX6011 Pro also includes a 3.71-inch display. Each model supports six hard drives plus two additional SSDs, while the UGOS Pro is installed on a preinstalled 128GB SSD. Network connectivity is provided via dual Ethernet with up to 10Gbps per port.
