New Asus ROG NUC gaming mini-PC spotted with May launch rumoured

It seems that Asus may be on the verge of refreshing its ROG NUC mini-PC line with a new model. For the time being, the company has not officially announced anything. Instead, ITHome has spotted an Asus executive briefly showing an unreleased ROG NUC model online. Pictured above and below, the new mini-PC is without a name for now, too.
However, ITHome reports that Tony Yu referred to 'one new ROG NUC'. Hence, it appears that the executive is referencing a ROG NUC 2025 successor rather than a replacement for the ROG GR70 (curr. $3,349 on Amazon). From the picture shared, Asus has made various design tweaks between this new ROG NUC and the existing ROG NUC 2025.
For instance, 'ROG' branding is now more prominent, as is 'For Those Who Dare'. Potentially, the new ROG NUC contains an RGB backlit logo too. The image indicates that Asus has revised its bundled stand, which now appears to cradle the mini-PC rather than screwing into it. Possible hardware upgrades remain unclear for now, with Intel having not released next-generation HX processors yet.
One option could be the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, an Arrow Lake HX processor that Intel announced in March. According to our benchmarks, the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus would give the new ROG NUC around a 6% performance uplift over the Core Ultra 9 275HX inside the ROG NUC 2025.
Asus may bring the GeForce RTX 5070 12GB and GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPUs to the new ROG NUC too, with the GeForce RTX 5080 being the most powerful option for the existing ROG NUC. Reportedly, Asus will reveal the new ROG NUC later this month in China.
