Minisforum intros refreshed Intel-powered mini PC with affordable starting price

Minisforum has quietly updated the M1 mini PC, and the new model, which is M1-1390, features the Intel Core i9 13900HX. Compared to the last one, the M1-1295 that was powered by the 12950HX, there should be 7-13% better performance in single-core and around 20% improvement in multi-core performance.

The rest of the specs are similar to the Minisforum M1-1295. That includes support for up to 96GB of DDR4 RAM through the two SO-DIMM slots. For storage, the mini PC has two M.2 slots, and each can hold a PCIe 4.0x4 SSD (Gen 5 Lexar 2TB NM1090 Pro curr. $349.99 on Amazon) . The port configuration remains the same as well, which is as follows:

• 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
• 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DP Alt and 15W PD out
• 1x DisplayPort 1.4
• 1x 2.5GbE
• 1x HDMI 2.1

For wireless connectivity, the mini PC brings WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Through the USB-C, HDMI, and DP1.2, the M1-1390 brings triple-display support. Minisforum further highlights the compact design of the system, and while it's small in size, it's said to have a powerful dual-channel cooling setup.

There are three configurations available on the official Minisforum store, and the barebone configuration costs $399, which is pretty affordable.
