Entry-level mini PC with 16 GB DDR5 RAM arrives with 5-core Intel Wildcat Lake CPU

Affordable mini-PCs based on Intel's latest Wildcat Lake platform have been popping up quite often. The latest happens to be from the well-known Chinese OEM Peladn. Dubbed WO5 304, the new mini PC aims to target the lower-end budget-conscious segment of the market.
As the name suggests, the WO5 304 mini PC is powered by the Intel Core 3 304 CPU based on Intel's latest 18A process. The 5-core 15-watt CPU supports a boost clock of around 4.3 GHz and a base clock of 1.4 GHz. In synthetic multi-core benchmarks, the CPU is on par with the octa-core Intel Core 3 N355 Twin Lake CPU.
In simpler terms, most lightweight and casual workloads should easily be doable on the system. The chip is paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM. Storage, on the other hand, it is handled by dual PCIe 4.0 x2 2280 M.2 slots.
There is no room for an internal dGPU. Therefore, the system has to rely on the paltry 1-core Xe3 iGPU that barely possesses enough firepower to keep up with an iGPU from Intel's 11th gen desktop lineup, making anything but the least of graphically intensive tasks unsuitable.

The I/O on offer is pretty healthy, and has been detailed below:
- Dual HDMI 2.0
- Triple USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, single USB 2.0 Type-A
- USB4 Type-C
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- 2.5G Ethernet, WiFi 6, BT 5.3
The lack of a DisplayPort might be rather disappointing for some people, but given the mini PC's budget-oriented positioning, the lack of one can be forgiven. Needless to say, the mini PC is extremely lightweight, measuring in at just 310 g or just under 11 oz.
The Peladn W05 mini PC is also impressively compact, with a footprint of just 11.6 by 10.6 cm or 4.7 by 4.1 inches and a height of 3.75 cm or 1.5 inches.
Pricing details are under wraps for now, but given the specifications on offer, it is more than likely to be on the lower end of the pricing spectrum. Peladn does offer its products in the global market, and the same might be true for the WO5 as well in due time.
For now, folks on the lookout for a budget-oriented mini PC can check out the Acemagic Kron mini K1 on Amazon, currently available for around $400.
