Minisforum has launched a new mini PC with AMD's Ryzen Z series silicon
The Minisforum UM750 Neo takes an unconventional route by using AMD’s Ryzen Z1 handheld processor instead of a mainstream laptop chip. It also offers USB4, triple-display support, dual PCIe Gen4 SSD slots and 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM.

Minisforum has released the UM750 Neo mini PC with intriguing AMD silicon. Instead of using mainstream laptop SKUs, it takes a different approach and opts for a handheld chip, presumably to keep costs low. Entirely viable for a mini-PC, but an interesting choice nonetheless.

The Minisforum UM750 Neo mini PC is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor with six cores and twelve threads, using a combination of Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores, reaching boost clock speeds up to 4.9 GHz. A 4 CU Radeon 740M iGPU handles graphics duties and can output video to three monitors simultaneously. For memory, you get 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5 memory running at 6400 MT/s.

Internal storage expands via two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD slots, supporting up to 4 TB per slot for a combined total of up to 8 TB. An active cooling assembly with phase-change thermal interface material manages heat dissipation for the processor, although the Ryzen Z1 isn’t known to be particularly toasty. It measures 130 × 126 × 47.2 mm and weighs 0.6 Kg.

Physical port selection comprises one full-function 40 Gbps USB4 port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery functionality, one HDMI 2.1 port, one DP 1.4 port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, one 2.5 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet jack, a 3.5 mm combo audio jack, a DC power input, and a recessed Clear CMOS button. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The Minisforum UM750 Neo costs $463 for the 16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage variant and $535 for the 1 TB storage version. This includes a 20% limited-time introductory discount, and both configurations will ship in late September.
