Lenovo launches new ThinkCentre mini PC with Intel Wildcat Lake and up to 32GB DDR5 RAM

Lenovo has quietly begun updating its ThinkCentre desktop lineup with Intel Wildcat Lake processors. The company recently revealed the ThinkCentre Neo 50a 24 Gen 7 AIO as the successor to the Lunar Lake-powered Gen 6 model, and now it has turned its attention to its one-liter mini PC.

To recap, the ThinkCentre Neo 50q Gen 6 Tiny only recently went on sale globally with Intel Core Ultra 5 226V and Core Ultra 7 256V Lunar Lake processors. Barely a month later, Lenovo has started listing its Gen 7 successor in several countries, including the UK, Malaysia, Estonia, and Singapore.

That said, the ThinkCentre Neo 50q Gen 7 is not available to order yet, but the listings give us a clear look at the hardware. Lenovo plans to offer it with up to an Intel Core 7 350 processor from the Wildcat Lake family, alongside up to 32GB of DDR5-5600 SODIMM memory and 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. By comparison, the previous Gen 6 model is available with only 16GB of soldered LPDDR5x RAM in the US, although it supports faster speeds up to 8533MT/s.

Apart from the processors, Lenovo has kept the rest of the formula largely intact. The ThinkCentre Neo 50q Gen 7 supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, while the port selection remains similar to the Gen 6 model. That includes one 10Gbps USB-C port, three 10Gbps USB-A ports, two additional USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, Ethernet, and a headphone jack.

Lenovo has not revealed pricing or an exact release date. However, with product pages now appearing in several countries, an official launch may not be far off.
