In February 2018, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the debut title from Warhorse Studios, captivated fans with its authentic game world and realistic gameplay. The story followed Henry, a young man drawn into a medieval Bohemian saga after losing his home and family. Players will soon have the chance to step into Henry's armor again, with the sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, set to launch on February 4.
The first map: The Bohemian Paradise
The review embargo for the first of two maps has been lifted and it truly lives up to its name. Set in what is now the Czech Republic, the Bohemian Paradise features sprawling forests, striking rock formations and scattered castles. The developers have masterfully recreated the region’s stunning natural beauty, bringing it to life with realistic graphics and vibrant, lifelike inhabitants. The map's scale is reportedly comparable to that of the first game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Twice as big as its predecessor
The game's second region, inspired by the historic town of Kuttenberg, is said to be even larger. While detailed information remains under wraps, it is known that the map will feature not only the city itself but also its expansive surroundings. This represents a major leap for the developers at Warhorse Studios. In the original game, Rattay, the central location, was essentially a large village. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 aims to roughly double the size of its predecessor, promising 80 to 100 hours of gameplay.
Realism instead of fantasy
In their first game, the developers deliberately avoided the fantasy elements typical of many role-playing games, opting instead for a realistic world set in the European Middle Ages. Henry must eat, sleep, keep his equipment in good condition and occasionally visit a bathhouse. The state of his gear also impacts interactions with NPCs. Villagers show respect if he appears in polished armor but treat him as a beggar if he wears tattered clothes. The challenging combat system has been refined, now featuring more realistic animations that enhance the overall experience.
Release on February 4
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will launch on February 4 and will be offered in two editions. The "Gold Edition," priced at $79.99, includes access to three planned DLCs and additional cosmetic items. The standard edition will be available on Steam for $59.99.
