The Lenovo Yoga Pro 14 is a brand-new ultrabook available with either AMD or Intel CPUs and can even be configured with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 40 Series GPU. This, in conjunction with the fantastic keyboard and great IPS display, makes it one of the best compact laptops money can buy right now.

Lenovo is offering its new Yoga Pro 7 14 with the GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU and a matte 3K display with 120 Hz and P3 color space coverage. This turns the compact 14-inch device into a powerful multimedia device that can also run the latest games.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i is genuinely a delight to use. One does not expect a laptop of this category to deliver well in almost every aspect, but somehow it manages to impress. I think it nails it in the display department with its sharp and vivid-looking panel which is also fast and smooth. Aesthetics also get a tick from my side, as the build quality feels solid, though the lightweight aluminium chassis isn’t super premium. The Core i7 CPU delivers more than adequate power for casual and power users while the optional discrete GPU gives it a nice grunt for that extra graphics performance. Pricing for the Yoga Pro 7i starts at Rs 99,990 while the model I tested costs Rs 1,29,990. You can look at other competitive options as well like the HP Pavilion Plus 14 and the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED.

We are dealing with a modern and very attractive laptop that should be of interest to a wide range of business customers. The device impresses not only with its design, but also with the use of a new powerful processor with a rather interesting nVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics chip. It is this combination that will allow you to feel the premium quality of the Lenovo Yoga Pro series. On the positive side, we should also note the high quality of materials and the build quality of the case, which is distinguished by good strength and rigidity. You can also add a decent filling, an interesting set of ports and low-voltage components that do their job well.

If we have to be honest, it is really hard to hate the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (14″, 2023). It is a really well-built product. One that has exceptional performance, good battery life, and is packed with features. Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (14″, 2023)’s IPS panel has a pretty high resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a high maximum brightness. Its contrast ratio is good, while the lack of PWM usage means that it is pretty comfortable for long periods of use. When we look at the colors, we see 99% DCI-P3 coverage and 100% sRGB coverage. The color accuracy is great with our Gaming and Web design profile. As you know, this is a 120Hz unit. However, its pixel response times are a bit slow. There is also a touch-sensitive version, which will feature a glass display cover.

Lenovo now offers its 14-inch Yoga Pro 7 14 G8 with the current AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS (Zen4), which may offer more performance compared to the old Ryzen 7 7735HS, however, this takes its toll on the device's battery life and noise emissions.

With the Core Ultra processors, Intel would finally like to catch up to AMD when it comes to iGPU performance. We have reviewed the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14 to see whether they can manage that. Will Intel's comeback be a success?

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i (14″, Gen 9) is an almost perfect compact laptop for content creation or other color-sensitive work. The dual-fan cooling solution is doing its job well during heavy loads where the optional Intel Core Ultra 7 155H can sustain 2.80 GHz / 2.40 GHz P and E-core frequencies in longer stress. The GeForce RTX 4050 has zero problems maintaining a 60W TGP while it’s utilized for gaming or other graphics-heavy job. In this scenario, the noise is average and the keyboard doesn’t feel hot to the touch. Speaking of which, the board is comfortable for typing and the big touchpad is very smooth. The port selection is modern but it’s also a bit limited since you lose one of the Type-C ports when the charger is plugged in. If you need a dGPU, you’ll end up with a laptop with just one M.2 slot – the iGPU-only siblings got two of these.

Prices for the Lenovo Slim 7 starts at $899 with a few configuration options available. My review unit cost $1,116 sporting 32GB of memory and an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU. You can opt for the Ultra 5 if you like. Would I recommend this laptop? Not really. It's certainly a decent machine. Lenovo made this laptop travel-friendly: it's durable, has a long battery life, and is lightweight at around three pounds. However, these three features alone don't cut it for me. The device's hardware can't handle tough workloads like graphic design; there are other machines better suited for that type of work. And its nearly $1,000 price tag makes it a hard sell for me. There are other options out there that can do the same thing, if not better. One of those laptops is the 12th-generation Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. It's a bit more expensive than the Slim 7, but it's worth the price. Another option would be the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, a lightweight and portable alternative.

The Slim 7i Gen 9 would have been a standout laptop a few years ago, offering class-leading performance and an OLED display at midrange and near-budget pricing. Today, it faces a lot more competition, and it’s held back by lesser battery life. Even so, there’s a lot to like. The keyboard and touchpad are very good, the chassis is solidly built, and it looks good. At its price of $1,050, it offers a great configuration. I can give it a recommendation, and if Lenovo pushes a configuration to around $800, it will rate even higher.

Priced at Rs 150,000 onwards, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i boasts an impressive display and robust performance, all housed within a premium, durable aluminium chassis. The inclusion of a powerful dedicated GPU facilitates casual gaming and handling some graphic-intensive video game titles. Overall, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i is an excellent choice for those seeking a professional, work-oriented laptop that doubles up as an entertainment device, while also allowing users to explore their creative pursuits. However, while it includes an NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU, this alone does not position it as a primary gaming device. For those specifically seeking a high-performance gaming machine, other options in the same price bracket might be more suitable.

If you're in the market for a new slim and powerful ultrabook, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i should be on your list. The laptop is stylish and has a very good display and keyboard, and you get discrete graphics and decent battery life as well. While you can't play AAA titles at full graphical prowess, you can still run plenty of less demanding games without any issues. This is a good laptop for the money and is easy to recommend.

This is somewhat of a tricky question because you see the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i is a jack of all, master of none. It’s an all-purpose laptop but it does have its share of weaknesses, which kind of leaves it neither here nor there. You see, if you want a laptop for long battery life and work, there are better choices available. Similarly if you want something for gaming, there are better choices available. Still, if you are looking for a powerful laptop that will work as your office and work companion, and yet it is a laptop on which you can fire up Steam to play a game or two, you should take a look at the Yoga Pro 7i. I wish it had a better set of speakers and better battery life, but at the same time I also admire its great display, well-built keyboard and smooth trackpad.
