Back in January, Google asserted that it would support the Qi2 standard in the future. Now, Android Authority has apparently got its hands on official marketing material showing that the Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will indeed support Qi2, including the magnets that are optional with the Qi2 standard. They make it possible to magnetically attach compatible accessories to the back of the Pixel 10 and can be used to mount the smartphone on a corresponding charger or stand.
According to Android Authority's leak, Google is planning a new lineup of magnetic accessories that will be marketed under the "Pixelsnap" moniker. At least three products are expected at launch, namely the Pixelsnap Charger, the Pixelsnap Charger with Stand and the Pixelsnap Ring Stand. While the marketing material doesn't include further details on these accessories, the names make it fairly obvious on which kind of products Google is working.
The charging stand could be particularly interesting, because the Pixel 10 is rumored to get a hub mode that transforms the smartphone into a smart display when it's charging, similar to the StandBy mode on Apple’s iPhone 16 (refurbished from $548 on Amazon). Android Authority also claims that the Pixel 10 series uses the ConvenientPower CPS4041 chip, which supports Qi2.2 including Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) and wireless charging with up to 60 watts. However, Google could possibly limit that charging speed for various reasons.
