LG's 2026 OLED evo TVs are getting a smarter alternative to Filmmaker Mode

LG is currently rolling out a new picture mode called Creator Original on select 2026 TV models. The new mode gives studios more granular control than Filmmaker Mode over how streaming content is displayed.

Neutral picture modes such as Filmmaker Mode exist largely to counter modern TVs' heavy post-processing, switching off features like motion smoothing to show content in a more traditional, unaltered form. Creator Original takes the opposite approach. Rather than disabling these additional processing features, it allows film and TV studios to actively set parameters such as shadow detail, color balance, noise reduction, and motion handling to match their intended creative vision.

Creator Original is currently exclusive to the 2026 LG OLED evo W6, G6, and C6 series. LG released pricing for most of this year's lineup in March, with most G6 and C6 configurations falling between $2,000 and $5,000. Those TVs include support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, 12-bit image processing, and enhanced dynamic range control, though the price points may be steep for casual viewers.

LG is also rolling out Creator Original in partnership with Prime Video, timed around the streaming service's upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. Owners of LG Smart TVs running at least webOS 23 can also use a dedicated voice command with the LG Magic Remote: saying "I have the power" automatically brings up content for the new release.
