After Xbox head Phil Spencer confirmed Xbox exclusives would eventually head to other platforms, rumours about Starfield launching for the PlayStation 5 have been gaining traction. An X poster Silknigth who accurately predicted the recent Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PC port talked about Starfield's eventual PS5 release sometime in late 2024.
Others stated Bethesda would announce it alongside the Shattered Space expansion in the coming weeks. However, Windows Central's Managing Editor Jez Corden seems to think otherwise. In a thread on X, he states "Nobody at Microsoft/subsidiaries is working on Starfield for PS5 today".
While this doesn't completely rule out the possibility of Starfield heading to PS5, it isn't due to happen anytime soon. Then again, it is common for Sony to wait for a few years before launching its exclusives on other platforms and Xbox could very well mimic that strategy.
Meanwhile, Bethesda has deployed a new patch for Starfield's beta build distributed via Steam (Update 1.10.30). It brings over 400 fixes and QoL updates to the game's UI, quests, graphics, ships and outposts, delivering upon the company's promise to support Starfield in 2024.
