Bethesda has rolled out update 1.9.67 for Starfield on PC. It adds support for AMD's FSR 3.0 and Intel's XeSS image upscaling tech and brings forth some minor QoL improvements.

Relative to other Bethesda games, Starfield launched in a relatively stable state. However, it came with just FSR 2.0 support out of the box, which, to put it mildly, was lacklustre. A subsequent update bought DLSS support, weeks after modders beat Bethesda to the punch. FSR 3.0 and XeSS support have finally arrived on the stable build of Starfield after being exclusive to the beta version.

Starfield (curr. $42 on Amazon for Xbox Series X) update 1.9.67 offers little more than the above features. It also fixes a visual bug caused by DLSS performance mode and visual artifacts when swapping weapons. Other changes include improved stability for players with multiple saves. You can read the complete changelog on Bethesda's official blog post.

Many would argue that Starfield update 1.9.67 comes a bit too late, especially for a single-player title. It has reportedly lost 97% of its player base just six months after launch. One can attribute this to 2023 being packed with high-profile releases and the fact that single-player titles tend to lose casual gamers after a point. Nevertheless, Bethesda has promised a ton of QoL updates for Starfield in 2024, including its first story-driven DLC, Shattered Space.
