Huawei launches new ultra-thin smartwatches with large AMOLED displays

Huawei has officially launched the Watch Fit 5 and Fit 5 Pro smartwatches in China. Many of the specifications of these new wearables were leaked alongside several product images in mid-April 2026.
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 series smartwatches are the first from the brand to have the new wrist-based micro-movement stretching feature. This function offers users 30 types of movements to encourage them to stretch out ten body parts, including the neck, back and shoulders. As is typical, the wearables can be used to track a range of health and fitness metrics, with more accurate heart rate monitoring thanks to an upgraded sensor. Plus, they are compatible with a wide range of third-party apps, offer GPS tracking and should run for around seven days with typical use.
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 smartwatch is described as “ultra-thin and lightweight”. Like the Watch Fit 4, it has a 1.82-inch AMOLED display, though with a higher peak brightness level of 2,500 nits. The model has an aluminum alloy casing, measuring 9.5 mm (~0.37 inches) thick; for context, the Apple Watch Series 11 has a 9.7 mm (~0.38 inches) depth. This watch weighs around 27.0 g (~0.95 oz). You can now pre-order the Huawei Watch Fit 5 smartwatch in China for CNY 1,099-1,199 (~$161-176).
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro smartwatch has a 1.92-inch AMOLED screen, larger than its predecessor, offering up to 3,000 nits brightness. This is protected by sapphire glass and the model has a titanium alloy bezel, two upgrades compared to the standard model. The watch is also a little heavier at 30.4 g (~1.07 oz). On top of the features of the entry-level wearable, the Pro comes with an ECG sensor for heart rate rhythm monitoring, and support for diving activities up to a depth of 40 m (~131 ft). Huawei’s Fit 5 Pro is more expensive, retailing for between CNY 2,099-2,199 (~$308-323).
In China, the Huawei Watch Fit 5 smartwatches will be released on April 29th. While the date of the European launch of these wearables has yet to be announced, rumors suggest that the standard and Pro variants will cost €199.00 and €299.00, respectively. For context, the older Watch Fit 4 launched with a €169.00 RRP (curr. €105.18 at Amazon DE).
