The X50 GT is Honor's latest mid-range smartphone and one that it sells in China for CNY 1,999 (~$281). The Honor X50 GT has an eye-catching design, which it complements with a 5,800 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 108 MP primary camera, among other features.

At the tail end of last year, Honor announced the X50 Pro, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1-powered handset supported by a 5,800 mAh battery and a 108 MP primary camera. With roughly a week passing since the X50 Pro's introduction in China, it is surprising to see Honor re-release what appears to be the same device under a different name. For reference, Honor pulled a similar move in September with the X40 GT Racing, albeit eleven months after the X40 GT's release.

Thus, the Honor X50 GT relies upon a more striking design than the regular X50 while maintaining its overall look. On the one hand, the X50 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display like the X50 that also has a curved finish. Additionally, the new handset sports a large circular camera housing, within which sit 108 MP primary and 2 MP auxiliary cameras. On the other hand, the Honor has included a colour-contrasting chevron design on the device's back panel, possibly to mimic a racing stripe of sorts.

Meanwhile, the X50 GT combines its 1200p and 120 Hz display with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, a 5,800 mAh battery and various memory configurations up to 16 GB of RAM with 1 TB of flash storage. At the time of writing, the X50 GT starts at CNY 1,999 (~$281) in China with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. However, Honor is also offering the device with 16 GB RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage for CNY 2,299 (~$323), CNY 2,499 (~$351) and CNY 2,799 (~$393), respectively. Like the X50 Pro, Honor is yet to confirm X50 GT global availability or pricing.
