The Nest Mini is a new Connected Home devices launched by Google at its latest live event. It is a smart speaker with integrated Assistant functions and touch controls. It is now up for pre-order at a price of US$49.

The Nest Mini can be seen as a successor to the original Google Home Mini, a smart speaker designed for what the Mountain View giant calls the "Connected Home". It has been launched at the Made by Google 2019 event. This device has Bluetooth 5.0, Chromecast and 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi to carry out its Assistant functions.

Google claims that, with its new array of 3 far-field microphones, the Nest Mini can hear queries and commands from farther away than ever before. It also has new Voice Match technology in order to tell one household member from another. Its 40mm driver gives it 360-degree sound, and confers what Google claims to be 40% more bass compared to the Home Mini.

Therefore, it should be heard (and hear) regardless of where it is placed in the home. On the other hand, it now comes with a wall mount for potential extra convenience The Nest Mini comes in a fabric finish, which is made using 100% recycled materials. This new smart speaker comes in Coral, Charcoal, Chalk or Sky colors, and can be preordered from now. However, it will not ship until October 22, 2019.
