Google brings new improvement to Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet and Pixel 6a through Pixel 8 Pro via latest Android 15 beta update
Android 15 is nearing stable status, although it may not be ready in time for the release of Google's upcoming Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphones. While this year's major OS update reached Platform Stability months ago, after which point Google no longer adds new features, it is still working through various bugs and known issues.
For example, the company rolled out Android 15 Beta 4 at the back end of last month with a few hidden changes. Supposedly, Beta 4 was Android 15's final 'scheduled' beta update. Nonetheless, Google has sought to roll out a further interim update aimed at addressing a Pixel-specific issue.
In a developer post, the company has confirmed that Android 15 Beta 4 contained a bug that could 'cause device audio to crash when making or receiving calls'. Given the limited changes that Beta 4.1 brings to Android 15, it should come as no surprise to learn that its over-the-air (OTA) file is sub-5 MB. For reference, Android 15 Beta 4.1 is available across the following Pixel devices, including the recent Pixel 8a (curr. $449 on Amazon):
