Google Pixel 11 is now official, and with this comes the usual scrutiny and discourse surrounding the hardware of the phone. It seems that Google Pixel 11 falls behind the base Apple iPhone 17 in one key display department, which might make some fans quite annoyed.

The Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro/Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are now officially out. The phones bring some nice hardware upgrades and some nifty new software features. Be sure to check out our launch coverage to know all the details. However, one detail that might not be readily obvious is that the Pixel 11 seems to fall behind the Apple iPhone 17 in one key display department.

The display characteristic we are talking about is the size of the screen bezels. The Google Pixel 11 essentially retains the display of the Google Pixel 10. This means that Google has not reduced the size of the Pixel 11 display bezels. This is not necessarily a deal breaker, but it is definitely something that makes the Pixel 11 look less premium compared to the Apple iPhone 17.

applefiles_ shows on X that the bezels on the iPhone 17 are considerably thinner than the Google Pixel 11. This makes the front of the iPhone 17 look much more modern, clean, and premium than the Google Pixel 10. This comparison becomes even worse for the Pixel 11 when we consider that it costs $100 more than the Google Pixel 10.

To be fair, this $100 does get you double the base storage at 256 GB and a new main camera. We also must not forget that the RAM and storage costs have ballooned over the last year. So, Google did need to cut some corners to keep the price down.

However, Apple also packed plenty of upgrades into the iPhone 17, including 256 GB of base storage, a new 48 MP camera system, and a new 120 Hz OLED display when the phone launched last year. Cupertino also refrained from implementing a price increase. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, rumors are swirling that Apple is getting ready to hike the price of the base iPhone 17 (get a "Renewed" unit on Amazon).

Stay tuned for our reviews of the Google Pixel 11 series, where we will put the base and Pro Pixel 11 models through their paces. In the meantime, you can pre-order the Pixel 11 on Amazon and get a free $100 Amazon gift card.
