It has been 10 years since the last Windows phone was released. Now, images and a video of an unreleased model have appeared online.

Images alleged to be that of a prototype of an unreleased Microsoft Surface Phone that was expected to launch in 2014 have surfaced on the web. The photos give us a look at what might have been released as a new Windows Phone device, prior to Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia.

First reported by Windows Central, the phone, which is believed to have the codename “Raven”, has a flat display with thick bezels at the top and bottom of the display. The chin is home to three capacitive keys that include Back, Home, and Search.

The unreleased phone has capacitive keys and a single rear camera.

The images also show that it has a flat back that houses a single rear camera, an LED flash, and a microphone. There's also a Microsoft logo on the back panel, which appears to be made of polycarbonate, although the frame is said to be metal.

A hands-on video of the phone posted on X shows the phone has separated volume buttons and a camera button on the right side, a SIM card slot on the left, a micro-USB port and audio jack at the bottom, and its power button at the top.

With respect to its specs, the unreleased device is said to have a 720p display and an unnamed Qualcomm processor. However, X user, Gustave Monce (@gus33000), posted on X that the phone is actually powered by the Snapdragon 400, the same processor that powered the Lumia 830 and the Galaxy S4 Mini.

Gustave also stated that the phone was likely not built by the Surface team as Surface products released around that time had Surface branding. However, it isn't disputed that it was developed by Microsoft.
