Update | GeForce GTX 1650 and i7-9750H combination features in leaked MSI GL63 laptop marketing material
Update April 11: A spokesperson for MSI has explicitly stated that the images, charts, and content of the alleged leaked marketing material are all false and that the manufacturer had absolutely nothing to do with the supposed leak.
The leaks concerning both Intel’s upcoming Coffee Lake H Refresh series of mobile chips and Nvidia’s likely GeForce GTX 1650 graphics solution are starting to come thick and fast. Intel has at least announced the existence of the 9th Gen series, while Nvidia is yet to officially reveal the latest addition to the GTX 16 series.
The marketing material for a refreshed MSI GL63 laptop is in Chinese, but it is simple enough to pick out the obvious performance highlights for the two important components. In one benchmark, the i7-9750H scores a seemingly impressive 182,529 points, which is conveniently contrasted against the i7-8750H’s 142,092 points and the i7-7700HQ’s paltry score of 95,106.
The focus then shifts to the GeForce GTX 1650 with its 4 GB of memory and clock speed of 1,395 MHz. This time 3DMark 11 is used as the reference benchmark, with the GTX 1650 scoring 11,294. The comparison GPUs, the GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050, score 9,114 and 7,979, respectively. Obviously, the marketing department at MSI can cherry pick which products to compare the new components with, but it still seems to be a powerful laptop all the same.
Images from popular games are also shown, with numbers that can be presumed to be FPS rates beneath them. Lastly, we have some details about the laptop itself. It seems this 2019 15.6-inch version of the MSI GL63 will have two SKUs that differ by CPU choice: Gamers can select the i7-9750H or the i5-9300H. There’s also 16 GB RAM, a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, and the GeForce GTX 1650 on board.
