It looks like Garmin is preparing to launch a new wearable before the end of the year. Earlier this year, rumours emerged that the company was developing a wearable without a display. That eventually came to market as the Index Sleep Monitor (curr. $169.99 on Amazon) though, which Garmin has designed for people to wear on their upper arm instead of a smartwatch and only when sleeping.
Now, a recent post on Garmin India's Facebook has ignited fresh speculation that the company is developing a Whoop alternative of some kind. Dubbed the Garmin Recovery Band by the5krunner and Gadgets & Wearables, among others, the unknown device is not referred to by name in Garmin's Facebook post. Instead, the company teases that the 'future of wearables is almost here', adding to that it is 'coming sooner than you think'.
The image below does not reveal much at first glance. Rotating it by 90° provides a clearer view of what looks like a smartwatch with an LED light positioned between its strap and the top of its housing. In that sense, the smartwatch resembles the Venu 4, underlined by the fact that Garmin shows red and white LED modes too.
However, the Venu 4 debuted months ago in India, arriving in mid-September as it did in the US. Thus, we doubt the teaser refers to a Venu 4 re-run unless it has a new variant in the pipeline. Potentially, this device could be a thinner Venu 4 of some sort, although no concrete details have emerged yet.
