OnePlus has officially announced the Watch Lite in Europe. This new smartwatch was recently teased on the brand's website as the 'OnePlus New Watch'. At the time, the only other detail provided was the outline of the wearable.
Now, the OnePlus Watch Lite can be found on the brand's websites in European countries like the UK and the Netherlands. This is expected to be the brand's entry-level smartwatch. The sole image of the wearable shows a silver colored casing with a rotating crown and button on the right-hand side. It is accompanied by an off-white silicone strap with orange stitching and a silver tone clasp. Rumors that this will be an ultra-thin model, measuring around 8.9 mm (~0.35 thick), have yet to be backed up with data from the brand.
While OnePlus has yet to disclose its features, the watch face indicates that it will offer step-tracking, heart rate monitoring and a calorie burn estimate. Also shown are environmental metrics like temperature, pressure, UV levels, humidity and wind speed.
The OnePlus Watch Lite will be released in Europe on December 17th alongside the OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus Pad Go 2. At the time of writing, it is unclear how much the smartwatch will cost. However, customers who subscribe to the company's mailing list will get £50/€50 off their purchase of the wearable, or a chance to win the OnePlus 15R smartphone.
It remains to be seen whether or when this smartwatch could be released in the US, where the company already sells the older OnePlus Watch 3 Obsidian Titanium (curr. $249.99 at Amazon). For context, the launch of the OnePlus 15 smartphone in this market has been postponed due to the government shutdown, which has delayed the necessary FCC certification.
