Xiaomi launches new Black Shark GS3 Ultra smartwatch with dual-band GPS and 1,000 nit AMOLED display
Black Shark has updated its smartwatch portfolio with a new Ultra-branded model. Previously known for its gaming smartphones, Black Shark has still offers gaming-focused tablets like the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro.
Not to be confused with Xiaomi’s Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro (curr. $482.50 on Amazon), Black Shark typically complements its tablets with smartwatches and other accessories. Nonetheless, Black Shark remains inexplicably linked with Xiaomi, just like Poco and Redmi.
Setting that aside, Black Shark’s latest smartwatch follows last year’s Watch GS3. Containing the same 1.43-inch AMOLED display as its predecessor, the Watch GS3 Ultra outputs at 466 x 466 pixels while allegedly hitting 1,000 nits in the right conditions.
Additionally, Black Shark claims its new smartwatch lasts up to 18 days between charges. However, this will likely drop well below that when enabling its dual-band GPS connectivity in one of its 160 sports modes.
As usual, the GS3 Ultra also tracks most important health metrics, albeit without skin temperature, ECG or blood pressure support. Black Shark has not revealed pricing or availability yet, although global availability looks likely. Please see the company’s website for more details.
