Garmin has released a new NFC-based smartwatch accessory in various markets worldwide. The CT1 Approach SuperStroke Edition is designed for golfers using this particular type of putting grip. The tracking tag can be used to log your shot length and accuracy, with data viewable on your watch or smartphone.

The Garmin Approach CT1 SuperStroke Edition is now available in countries worldwide. This is a new version of the golf club tracking tag, designed especially to work with the tech port on SuperStroke putter grips.

The only difference between the standard and SuperStroke Editions of the Approach CT1 is the design. These Garmin accessories must be used alongside one of the brand’s compatible smartwatches, like the Approach S44. Thanks to Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, the tag allows you to track statistics like your shot length and accuracy.

Users of the Approach CT1 must tap the tag to their smartwatch before each shot, with collected data viewable on their connected smartwatch. The device can also log your location and club type, with data viewable in the Garmin Golf app on your smartphone, where you can view trends which could point to areas to work on.

The battery-free SuperStroke edition tag weighs 6.0 g (~0.21 oz), measuring 27 mm (1.1 inches) wide and 12.1 mm (~0.5 inches) tall. It has a black finish and is IPX7 rated water-resistant. You can now buy the Garmin Approach CT1 SuperStroke Edition for $29.99/£25.99/€29.99. For context, a set of 16 original CT1 golf club tracking tags retails for $99.99 (Amazon), so they cost around $6.25 each.
