Almost a fortnight has passed since Garmin last offered a new update to the Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7 and Fenix 7, among other smartwatches like the Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar (curr. $549 on Amazon). A beta update, v23.35 was said to resolve device shutdowns while bringing other refinements to the table too.
At the time, it was unclear when Garmin would transition recent beta development to its stable branch following September's release of System Software 23.18. Now though, it seems that v23.41 will soon be making its way as the first stable update in over two months. For the time being, Garmin has not confirmed as much.
However, the only change between Beta Versions 23.35 and 23.41 is the reintroduction of ECG functionality. Typically, this would indicate that Garmin is preparing to move development to its stable branch, although Dive functionality remains disabled is rather unusual. Nonetheless, we still suspect that v23.41 or an equivalent will be distributed as a new stable software update soon. For reference, Garmin has mentioned the following changes from System Software 23.18 until Beta Version 23.41:
Fix a potential device shutdown when updating software.
Fix an issue where IR SOS messages would sometimes be divided amongst several threads.
Fix an issue where the device could not cancel an IR SOS message.
Fix an issue where the satellite notification would not get shown on the activity stage page.
Fixed a potential shutdown when accessing the activity selection list.
Fixed an issue where IR messages would sometimes not be delivered when sending to multiple contacts.
Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when configuring a watch face.
Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes shutdown when editing an activity's settings.
Fixed an issue with Tide Alerts displaying incorrect data.
General inReach Remote stability fixes.
Stability fixes to iR Remote.
