Amazfit’s T-Rex 3 smartwatch appears to be receiving its first Zepp OS 5.0 update. This model was last updated in September 2025, when it got new running dynamics and additional keyboard layouts.
As reported by users in the Amazfit T-Rex 3/3 Pro Group on Facebook and the 4PDA forum, Zepp Health is rolling out software version 4.1.5.1 to this smartwatch. The upgrade to Zepp OS 5.0 brings a new UI to the T-Rex 3, with refreshed animations and a smoother experience. You can now adjust the font size under Accessibility settings, and users can take a screenshot when they press the SEL and DOWN buttons simultaneously. One user has also reported that Scuba Diving has been added as an activity.
The hotly anticipated BioCharge feature replaces the older Body Battery functionality, a way for users to monitor their energy levels. There are new sports, like hiking and weighted hiking, and you can now add weights to other workouts like trail running, mountain climbing and hill climbing. The T-Rex 3 gets support for topographic maps during activities like kitesurfing and skydiving, and it is now compatible with the Stryd pod for runners. The T-Rex 3 gains uphill alerts as part of route guidance and a new Jet Lag Manager. On top of this, users can now zoom in on images in the Notification centre, and they can amend nap records.
Software version 4.1.5.1 appears to be rolling out in phases to users of the T-Rex 3 smartwatch (curr. $226 at Amazon). Typically, updates reach users in China, the US and Canada first, before being rolled out more widely around a week later.
