The Honor Watch X5 is set to launch alongside the Honor 500 series in China. It's a new, affordable smartwatch that seems to be positioned as a competitor to the Redmi Watch 6. However, Honor's offering is a bit more budget-friendly, at least in China.
To be specific, the Honor Watch X5 has a price tag of CNY 449, around $63, while Xiaomi launched the Redmi Watch 6 at CNY 599, about $84. The price difference does reflect the overall specs of Honor's new smartwatch, as its spec sheet is slightly less impressive in comparison.
Among the highlights is the 1.97-inch display, which Honor says has 1.8 mm ultra-narrow bezels. The screen-to-body ratio is touted to be 82%, and it has a 60 Hz refresh rate. There's support for AOD, and the companion app allows customization of the watch faces.
Honor also highlights the slim and light build of the affordable smartwatch. It's said to be as thin as 9.99 mm and weigh only 29 grams. The Watch X5 has navigational features as well. It supports barometer, compass, and GPS, making it easier for users to navigate during outdoor activities (GPS-enabled Amazfit Bip 5 curr. $64.59 on Amazon).
Speaking of which, there are standard health and fitness tracking features, including support for 24/7 heart rate monitoring. Honor highlights that there are over 120 sports modes, and the smartwatch has IP68 and 5 ATM ratings. Other notable aspects of the Watch X5 include two-way Bluetooth calling, NFC payment, audio playback control, and a camera control feature.
Honor's Watch X5 is already available to purchase, but it will be properly introduced alongside the new Honor 500 phone series. This launch event is set for November 24, 2025.
