The Garmin Forerunner 970 smartwatch is currently discounted for Black Friday in the US. This wearable, designed for runners, was released alongside the Forerunner 570 earlier in 2025, with an RRP of $749.99.
Now, at the Garmin online store, as well as retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, you can buy the Garmin Forerunner 970 smartwatch for $649.99, a $100 discount on the recommended retail price. This is the lowest price recorded for this model, though it is worth noting that it was previously discounted by this amount for a couple of days in July 2025 at Scuba.com.
The discount is available on all three colorways of the Forerunner 970 smartwatch, with gold/gray/indigo, gray/black/white and white/yellow options to choose from. Given that these are Black Friday-related deals, they are expected to run until December 1st.
Garmin’s Forerunner 970 has a 1.4-inch (454 x 454 px) AMOLED display, surrounded by a titanium bezel and protected by a sapphire crystal lens. One of its more unusual features is an integrated LED flashlight to help you see and be seen. Other useful hardware on the watch includes integrated speakers and a microphone, for Bluetooth calling and voice commands, and NFC for contactless payments.
The Forerunner 970 offers advanced health metric tracking, with the Garmin ECG app and skin temperature tracking, alongside popular features like Body Battery and Morning Report. You can track your workouts with a wide range of activities to choose from, and wrist-based running dynamics should appeal to athletes of all abilities. The flagship smartwatch also supports multi-band GPS with full color maps. The watch is expected to run for around 15 days with typical use, and is water resistant to 5 ATM. You can find the complete specifications of the Garmin Forerunner 970 on the brand’s website.
