Garmin has quietly started rolling out new updates to its Venu X1 and Vivoactive 6 (curr. $249 on Amazon) smartwatches. For context, the company issued Software Version 15.16 for the pair almost a month ago. Also available on the Venu 4, Software Version 15.16 replaced v14.12 with numerous bug fixes and improvements following an extensive beta testing phase.
Now, Garmin has returned with Beta 15.31, which must be downloaded manually on both smartwatches. As a result, one must head through the Main Menu, Settings, System and Software Update before tapping 'Check for Updates' to begin the Beta 15.31 installation process on both the Venu X1 and Vivoactive 6. Please note that both smartwatches must be enrolled on Garmin's Beta Program to receive this new build.
Ultimately, Garmin is being rather coy about what Beta 15.31 brings to the table over Software Version 15.16. For the time being, the company has only revealed that Beta 15.31 contains 'various' bug fixes and other unspecified improvements. As a result, it is currently unclear how Beta 15.31 improves upon older builds at this stage. Likewise, Garmin has not clarified when it plans to introduce a new stable update yet. Please see Garmin's forum posts for more details.
